We are keenly aware that skin care products require earthly resources; however, we are adamantly striving to put back more than we are taking from the earth. This principle, the very idea behind regenerative Biodynamic® agriculture has also guided every business decision from day one, starting with our formulations which, in turn, inform our farming strategy and methods, to sourcing ingredients and choosing sustainable packaging

We spent over 3 years sourcing and commissioning the most potent Biodynamic® ingredients to create exquisite and sustainably farmed skincare products that are gentle, on both skin and soil.

Our values extend beyond the ingredients to packaging and shipping; we make intentional commitments to use materials that are compostable or reusable. We use custom sized shipping boxes made from 100% PCW (post-consumer waste) recycled paper with vegetable based inks while our shipping tape is made from bio-based cellulose. We use glass bottles instead of plastic, in natural amber color (not sprayed or dyed) to both protect our products from light, and avoid any chemical processes to the material.

Biodynamic agriculture is the traditional approach to farming that goes beyond organic to grow in the most sustainable, symbiotic manner possible. Its techniques work in harmony with Nature instead of exploiting it. Doing so produces the most nutrient dense, vibrant plants that are considered the highest quality in the world.

We chose to grow our own plants biodynamically, use Biodynamic ingredients, and acquire the certification because we believe the history of Biodynamics should also be our future.

Our herb garden is focused on plants that have remarkable properties specific to skincare. Biodynamics shows us that those plants that nourish the skin, also happen to nourish the soil. There is a certain symbiotic harmony here: vitality nurturing vitality.

Following the Biodynamic standards of agriculture has enabled us to grow significantly from our first little patch of calendula, despite significant weather-related challenges, for which we are grateful, as it strengthened our resolve and required us to lean significantly on our familial gardening secrets, cultivated over centuries of tending to our land.

For each product in the Maison Collection we develop a customized extraction blend employing our proprietary Complexe du Jardin™ method. This specific method meticulously saturates an oil with the nourishing medicinal properties of the plants we grow in our jardin following the Biodynamic® principles. As we grow each plant exclusively for each product, each extract is a targeted synergy of botanicals that addresses the desired actions of the product. This is why there are different herbs in our Extrait de Maison than in our Rituel de Maison.
